Grand Afternoon Family!
We discuss today the Afrikan origin of medicine.
From the book, βSankofa University: Studying African-Centered History and Cultureβ, by Burnett Kwadwo Gallman, I am inserting an excerpted reading from Chapter 18 on this topic as written by brother Burnett.
In these changing times itβs important to know our history, and this history in medicine is paramount, particularly in the face of cuts and affordability in healthcare in our present day. I attended yesterday a wonderful program called Magical Kemet, produced by HAPI Film. (In this link you will find the collection of videos of past interviews in their YouTube Channel) The program stressed the importance of knowing. It will dictate our future and the future of the world towards uplifting and nurturing it.
Also, check out the sister publication to Kemetic Kontent, The Chocolate Kitchen, here on Substack, specifically discussing holistic health and lifestyle in the Black community.
