Grand Day Family!
Today we continue with the second part of the reading from the book “They Came Before Columbus: The African Presence in Ancient America”, by Ivan Van Sertima, Chapter 9: African-Egyptian Presences in Ancient America.
There is a sale on this book at the bookstore link above, but to support Source of Knowledge, black owned bookstore, the title is almost sold out at this link!
We continue with more of chapter 9 to zoom in on the Afrikan presence in Ancient America, discussing the Olmecs, their origin, and much more!
When times change the roads all lead back to Afrika, and our ancient ancestors. They and we are the blueprint of what we are to do and action. Reading the research and making these discoveries excites me, it is a feeling of DNA waking up with each turn of a page. I think this is something of what ancestor Dick Gregory said about putting on the rainbow glasses, that you can’t take them off once you start wearing them. It also comes with responsibility to the wearer.
This excerpt tells us especially to take heed in the following:
“…This guideline counsels us to be time-specific and culture-specific; to cite evidence, where possible, of a long evolution of the habit, artifact, system or technique in the area of the donor and to demonstrate a lack of known antecedents in that of the recipient…”
